How to use the command builder

Search by command name or by what you want to do (for example user or Get-ADUser). Pick a command, fill in the parameters you need, and copy the generated command line. Leave a field empty to leave that parameter out.

Before you run a command

• Many commands come from a module that must be installed first. For the Active Directory commands that is the RSAT Active Directory tools. Each result notes the module it needs.
• Run Get-Help <command> -Examples to see the official examples, and Get-Command -Module <name> to list what a module provides.
• Commands that change things (Set-, Remove-) accept -WhatIf to preview the change without applying it.
